Gibson Supports Australia's 18th Annual East Coast Blues & Roots Music Festival

Gibson Guitar has just announced its support of the 18th Annual East Coast Blues & Roots Festival in Byron Bay, Australia. The five-day festival takes place April 5-9, and features many of the world's greatest blues, roots, and jazz artists on four stages.

Gibson artists Wolfmother, the much heralded Australian rock band, will headline on the Mojo stage Thursday, April 5. Other performers include Larry Carlton, Paolo Nutini, the Magic Numbers, John Mayer, Taj Mahal, Ziggy Marley, the Roots, Lee Scratch Perry, Bonnie Raitt, Bo Diddley, Wiley Reed, Hacienda Brothers, Xavier Rudd, Gomez, Ben Kweller, John Butler Trio, Ben Harper, and Joss Stone.

Making a welcome return to the Festival are the Gibson Guitar All Stars, the Flood. The Flood are an enigmatic, Sydney-based four-piece group with a string of successful albums behind them. Americana in style, their music is in the tradition of Bob Dylan, Neil Young, and the Jayhawks - while still reflecting the Australian experience in a unique way. They will perform on the Jambalaya Stage on Friday, April 6 at 12.30 p.m., Saturday, April 7 at 10 p.m., and Monday, April 9 at 2:45 p.m.

Set in beautiful Byron Bay, Australia's eastern most point, the East Coast Blues & Roots Music Festival began in 1990 with international performances from Canned Heat and Charlie Musselwhite, alongside Australia's best local talent. Word spread in the global artist community and the East Coast Blues & Roots Music Festival soon became one of the most desirable and important destinations for the world's greatest artists.
